Putting On the Armor of God

Last night for Family Home Evening, we read from Ephesians chapter 6 about putting on the armor of God. Since Lucy loves to dress up and accessorize these days, Jay had the idea to let her actually put on the "armor" as we talked about it. She loved it!

Lucy had to grab her baby for the picture.

"loins girt about with truth"-blue and white polka dot skirt
"breastplate of righteousness"-pink fleece vest
"feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace"-pink snow boots
"shield of faith"-monkey pillow
"helmet of salvation"-bicycle helmet
"sword of the Spirit"-carrot shaped baseball bat
The helmet is still a little big on her!

Decorating the Tree

For Family Home Evening, we decorated the Christmas tree. Lucy was very helpful at taking the ornaments OFF of the tree, but she didn't want to put her ornament ON.

Daddy was so sweet. He bought Lucy this ornament. It is a yellow chick. He knows how much she loves her "Chirpy Chick" book.

After we decorated the tree, we placed presents under it. Lucy crawled under the tree to make sure that she had some presents under there.

Three Cute Chicks --look carefully!

For Family Home Evening on Monday we went next door to our neighbor's who just got some chickens. We wanted to show Lucy the chickens, and there was one really cute, little, chick. Angela actually HELD it, which is pretty amazing if any of you know about her misophobia (fear of germs, dirt, etc.).

As you can see from the picture, Lucy could not take her eyes off the little chicky. It was so cute!
