Mother's Day weekend was amazing! We went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science on Saturday. They have the Body Worlds exhibit there right now. Lucy was not thrilled about that exhibit, but Jay and I found it fascinating. They had an entire room dedicated to birth and the development of a baby in the room. As I looked at a 12 week old fetus and witness its tiny hands, head, and feet, my belief that abortion is wrong was reaffirmed. How can anyone say after looking at that precious little form that it is okay to kill it because it hasn't been born? Okay, I am off my soapbox now.
The museum also had a neat dinosaur exhibit. Jay enjoyed the Egyptian room, and Lucy loved the Kid's Discovery Zone. In this picture, she is playing with a magnet and metal shavings.

Lucy loved seeing Poppy the fish. She says "blub, blub" for fish.
Lucy liked playing with the wind tunnel and seeing what things would float.
Daddy and Lucy.
Lucy got to be a paleontologist and dig for dinosaur bones. There was even a dinosaur's nest to play in. Fearless Lucy climbed right in.
It was a wonderful day, which was followed by another amazing day. On Sunday, Jay got up with Lucy and made breakfast: scrambled eggs, an English muffin with peanut butter, chocolate chips, and bananas (one of my favorite breakfast treats), and strawberries with whipped cream.
Jay knew that I felt bad that we don't have a garden, so he bought me a tomato plant, a basil plant, and fresh flowers. Lucy helps me water the tomato plant with her little watering can. She is so proud that she can help mommy. Before the day was over, she had even helped harvest 3 tiny green tomatoes!
Lucy was thirsty too!
After church, Jay fired up the grill and make a Mexican Fiesta Feast: tamales, tacos, beans, and grilled pineapple! For dessert he made strawberry filled empanadas. He is an amazing chef. I wish that he had time to cook for me more often.
Being a mother is one of the best things in the world! Lucy gave me lots of hugs and kisses and even let me rock her to sleep at church (FYI she NEVER sleeps at church!). I try to savor each moment of my day with her. The days go by way too fast. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and a loving daughter. I am glad that families can be together forever!
